  • Chimenea

I know we all go around saying this, but I really cannot believe May is here. This year is just flying by!!

As I sit and type this I can hear the birds singing their little hearts out as it is a wonderful day, sun shining, no wind, garden growing and beginning to look lovely and beckoning me outside is Jim….
After five years of indecision our friends despaired that another summer had come to a close and we still struggled with tiny barbeques despite lots of chat about what we were going to buy next year. Now we have finally bought ourselves a chimenea (from www.glo-art.co.uk). I know it’s not a life threatening choice (or to quote the late/great Bill Shankley “I know it’s not life or death, it’s more important than that”) but some things take us a while and we do like to be sure………..
This Chim (Jim the Chim!!) is wonderful, it works as a patio heater but you can also cook anything on it, I haven’t switched on oven or hob since we had it. Mind you, we’ve only had it six days but we have used it to the full in that time and it has made us sit out in the garden in the evenings, flickering flame being far more entertaining than the telly.
How long will it last…………..The Jim craze or the weather?? Who knows but we’ve had to wait quite a while for both of them so I’m going to make the most of it and I hope you are able to, too.

  • Updated photos

Decided to change my photo from the extremely obese cat( which wasn't mine but was how I felt when I first wrote the blog!) to our dog Mea and our cats Pesto( the ginger )and Basil.
As I couldn't find any others that were small enough to upload without some work I also uploaded a couple of items of Jewellery. A sample of what can be found on my website www.distinctivejewellery.com

  • Oh What a Beautiful Day...................

Well a good sunny start any way!!Hoping to get lots done today as tomorrow is work and Friday is Malvern Flower Show. Best of the year in my opinion. As a gardener at this time of the year it's all excitement and anticipation. You can see in your mind's eye what all those tiny seeds are going to flourish into and all those realities of disease, pests and drought are not really on the radar yet. Come August it will all look so different.Bit like life really!!
We grow a lot of salad in the garden as you cannot beat walking down the garden with a bowl at 7.30pm picking a load of different "bits" to throw in a bowl with a quickly shaken dresssing and serve with grilled meat or Fish. Handsome!!!
But to be able to pick and enjoy this you have to sow seed and I find this a fairly uninspiring activity (the dog and cats find it utterly fascinating and REALLY enjoy investigating what I've done usually to the detriment of my rows!!!)
So motivation is what I'm after today, to propel me into the garden to do that act of faith...........sow today to reap tomorrow.

Website called www.Pandora.com. It allows you to type in artists or songs you like and it will play you an assortment of similiar music. I'm discovering all sorts of artists I would not normally listen to. Some are great some are awful!!That's the chance you take. Great fun!!
